Access Creates Change: Aanchal’s Story of Confidence

When Aanchal, a young girl from Shadipur Transit Camp, first came to Ashish Foundation a year ago, life was full of challenges. She had never attended school, struggled with basic hygiene, and found it difficult to follow routines or interact with others. Growing up in a low-income settlement, she had almost no access to education or therapy, which only deepened her developmental delays.

Her parents wanted to support her but simply couldn’t afford therapy or transportation. That’s when Ashish Foundation stepped in, offering her a full scholarship and free transport, ensuring she could attend school every day without worry.

The change since then has been nothing short of remarkable. With regular access to speech therapy, occupational therapy, and special education, Aanchal began to blossom. She learned to speak in simple English sentences, built a vocabulary of over 100 words, and discovered a love for science, EVS, and classroom experiments.

Today, Aanchal’s growth is visible in every aspect of her life. She:
Communicates confidently, both in English and Hindi, and loves to engage in conversations.
Understands and completes all her assignments with dedication.
✨ Regularly does extra practice to strengthen her learning.
Takes care of her classmates, showing kindness and responsibility.
Follows classroom routines and helps maintain a positive environment.
✨ Has become a spirited participant in activities and even enjoys playing football.
✨ Radiates confidence and joy, looking forward to school each day.

From a child who once struggled with the basics of daily life, Aanchal has transformed into a caring, respectful, and enthusiastic learner. She not only learns but also contributes actively to the school community, making her presence a source of encouragement for her peers.

Aanchal’s journey is proof that when barriers like cost and access are removed, children with developmental disabilities don’t just improve—they thrive, grow, and inspire others.
